My trademark akubra is arguably the world’s most travelled akubra. It has travelled to every corner of the globe and has been on every single expedition I’ve ever embarked on. From hunting the Hawaiian lava tube mutant pig monster to searching for the hairy man of the Swiss Alps, my trusty akubra has been there to protect me from sun, rain, snow, hail, birds, ash and even on one occasion raining fish. I’m often asked what has caused the tears in the hat’s brim. I wish it could say it was during a wrestle with a yowie or an alien big cat, but there’s a more mundane explanation.
